The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a group of thieves that broke into a business and stole thousands of dollars worth of property. On May 31, 2020, at 2:27 a.m., eight men kicked down the front door of an AT&T store at 11131 North Dale Mabry Highway in Tampa. After reviewing the surveillance video, detectives observed the unknown suspects who burglarized the store. Most of the suspects had their hands and faces covered. Detectives believe some of these suspects were involved in another business burglary that took place at the International Diamond Center located at 10330 North Dale Mabry Highway. The two incidents took place minutes apart and the businesses are separated by about a half-mile.
“These suspects took advantage of the protests that were taking place around the county at the time,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “The break-ins caused an added level of hardship to businesses that were already suffering from the effects of the pandemic. We do not tolerate these criminal acts and will ensure these suspects face consequences for their unacceptable behavior.” Anyone with information about these suspects is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at (813) 247-8200.
